To address the issues raised at the BEA meeting about the new teacher evaluation system, Pat Kelly spoke with Martha De Bleu who is the NJEA spokesperson regarding teacher evaluations.
The law regarding teacher evaluations has changed and becomes effective next Wednesday (September 11, 2013).
The NJEA feels it is better to have three “long” evaluations as opposed to “short” evaluations because the evaluator gets to see the entire lesson, which benefits the teacher.
More information about the state teacher evaluation system can be found HERE on NJEA’s website.
